Hello,
I am trying to get the TV card Pinnacle PCTV Studio/Rave working but
I'm having no luck. At first, I was using kernel 2.4.22-1.2174.nptl
(Fedora Core 1). This resulted in error messages in /var/log/messages:
Mar 28 22:44:42 topjaklont kernel: mt2032: re-init PLLs by LINT
Mar 28 22:44:42 topjaklont kernel: mt2032: re-init PLLs by LINT
Mar 28 22:44:42 topjaklont kernel: MT2032 Fatal Error: PLLs didn't lock.
(repeated a lot of times)
both at initialisation and when running either xawtv or scantv. At
usenet[0] I saw that there existed a kernel bug so I upgraded to a
self-compiled 2.6.4. This one does not give the error messages. But my
screen is still blue. The output in /var/log/messages now is:

...AFAICS that's OK. Scantv gives:
Mar 30 21:32:08 topjaklont kernel: tuner: TV freq (0.00) out of range (44-958)
...but finds no channels.
BTW, which TV norm do I need? I tried them all, but PAL, SECAM and NTSC
simply don't find anything, PAL-M and NTSC-JP result in /dev/vbi not
found, and PAL-N, PAL-Nc and PAL-60 result in a segmentation fault.
I Googled for this problem and found some leads but no solutions. I do
saw some people had got it working, however. Possibly I'm mising
something trivial...? The Linux TV HOWTO is almost four years old so
that doesn't help me either. I really hope someone can help me!
yours,
Gerrit.
