talking to Nikon CoolPix 3200

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend with RedHat 9
and a Nikon CoolPix 3200 digital camera. The information
that comes with the camera only indicates ways of printing
out the photos with Windows. What kind of support can one find
for this camera under Linux?
