I just came about a Sony Storstation Ditto 2GB Tape Drive. I know
that the drive is dated but I still want to use it to back up some
code that I wrote and things of that nature. Currently I am running
Fedora Core 2, kernel 2.6.5, with ftape 4.02 installed (ftape 4.04
wouldn't compile). The tape drive is a parallel port drive. However
I have no idea how to get it to work. I have tried everything in the
manual from ftape-docs and have scoured the net for solutions to this
problem. The drive is in working order. But it is not showing as a
valid device under /dev/ftape or /dev/qt0. Can any help me through
this. If not is there any tape drives that are supported nativly by
linux. Thanks!!!!
