I am trying to Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 on an Intel
S875WP1-E entry server board.
I have SATA drives and I initially plugged them into the onboard
Adaptec controller and used the BIOS level mirroring. I then attempted
to load the driver provided by Intel, which appeared to load. But then
a message appeared that the driver does not match any hardware and I
had the option to select the drive from a list, which I did, but still
the install program did not detect any hard drives.
I then tried using the onboard Promise controller without the RAID and
pretty much the same thing happened.
Of course, I can load the OS fine on a regular IDE drive.
Does anyone know of a way to load RH 3 on SATA RAID drives? Is it
possible? I have also tried Suse 9.0 with even less success.
Thank you,
Jim
