I did a quick search of OSS and ALSA sites but I didn't see direct support
for neither Uniwill Computer Corp or an ALG16 chipset. But that's why I
suggested sndconfig which allowed trying different compatible soundcards.
My boot log:

a number of devices share IRQ 11 but I only have a 2 channel integrated
sound card and the OSS drivers work best for me. Are you using the ALSA
drivers which should support 5.1 sound? I assume your speakers are
plugged into the correct audio jacks because I've been there before.
