Of the DVD-burning apps available, dvd+rw-tools has been the easiest to use
IME. It handles DVD-R/RW just fine, too; I use it to burn offsite backups
to DVD-R. (I've used it with a Pioneer DVR-105 in a FireWire case and an
Emprex DVDRW1004IM on an IDE channel; I've burned DVD-R on both and DVD+RW
on the Emprex without any problems.)
