I did apply the driver provide by Adaptec -
aar1210-drv_1.0.16-rh9.rpm. However, it does not contain a module for
kernel version 2.4.20-31.9, which is what I am running - it contains
only one prebuilt module - that for 2.4.20-8 kernel. I did a fall-back
to 2.4.20-8 (see contents of /var/log/dmesg below). It worked, except
that in order to use it I would have to re-install a number of other
drivers (ethernet, video, etc.) and, more importantly, some
applications, which I am not even sure would work with 2.4.20-8. So,
again, I would really need to get it working under 2.4.20-31.9.
Now my question is not whether I can get a pre-built module for
2.4.20-31.9 - Adaptec would probably not build one for me on request
- but whether I can get an open-source module somewhere so I can build
one myself. Or, a reference to some patch that I can patch 2.4.20-31.9
with.
