Compared to X-over-Ethernet, it's a little cheaper on the hardware and
a faster for some things (e.g., anti-aliased fonts, and 3D graphics).
Compared to using workstations with the home directory (and maybe
/usr/local) on an NFS server, it's little more cheaper in hardware,
and a lot cheaper in system maintenance, and faster for many things
(especially binaries over NFS cause a big slowdown).
The disadvantage is that everyone has to sit quite close to the CPU,
and you can't enjoy the noiseless office that my Igel X-terminal gives
me. Also, the initial setup requires more effort.
