I have a Sora MiVoice 918SU digital voice recorder, aka the Decktron 918SU.
Has anyone had any success in using this device in Linux? So far I
haven't.

When I plug in its USB connection, I get the following event in syslog:

Jul 30 05:12:20 helium kernel: usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using
address 7

and in /proc/bus/devices/usb I see

T: Bus=02 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 7 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=05b4 ProdID=6001 Rev= 0.01
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=100mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff Driver=(none)
E: Ad=01(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 32 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=82(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 32 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=83(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 8 Ivl=0ms

Not much information here, and Driver=(none) isn't good. In particular
usb_storage doesn't work; sg_scan shows no new devices after I plug in the
recorder.

This is a Compact Flash based device, though. The Windows driver says

MSFT="Decktron, Inc."
MfgName="Hyundai Micro Electronics"
USB\VID_05b4&PID_6001.DeviceDesc="USB Flash Memory Controller Driver:(6001)"

In usb.ids I see

05b4 LG Semicon Co., Ltd
        6001 Digisette DUO-MP3 AR-100

and Windows thinks it's a Digisette device.

None of the manufacturers' sites says anything at all about Linux:

If anyone else has tried to get one of these working, I'd like to hear how
you did.

Thanks,
Andrew.
