You don't say that you want to go dual-processor, but the mobo
you mention is dual-processor capable. Also it's a socket 940
board which limits you to Opteron or Athlon64 FX cpus, which are
expensive. As you mention price being an issue I'd suggest you
go for a socket 754 based board which is the current mainstream
for Athlon64 chips and the boards are cheaper than the MSI K8T,
but with still good performance. However, upgrade potential will
be limited due to AMD moving to socket 939 as the new standard,
but this is currently expensive.
I know this isn't a recommendation, but I hope it gives you
something to think about.
