Hi all.
I'm trying to setup a dual boot (W2K/Linux) on an old PII box with an
Adaptec SCSI 2930 adapter connected to the following disks:
- IBM-PCCDDRS-39130W
- WDIGTL WDE 9180 ULTRA 2 SCSI
Windoze installed fine on the IBM disk (although it detected the card as
AIC-7850) but I ran out of luck when trying to install Linux. Distros
tried so far:
1) Knoppix 3.4: hangs while probing scsi: aic7xxx.o
2) Fedora Core 2: hangs while loading aic7xxx driver.
3) Suse 9: hangs while detecting hard disks.
4) Mandrake 9.2 and 10: both hang while installing driver for "ADAPTEC
AHA-7850"
Bios version is 1.13. I've searched Adaptec Web site but found no drivers
for Linux, and no bios update either.
Any help with be greatly appreciated.
Ernest.
