Note: kernel 2.4.27-rc5 is
booting fine with an on-board
adaptec aic7899-w (roughly
equivalent to what is on a
29160/29160N/39160), using
aic7xxx.
That aha2930, though, sounds
like one of those odder controllers,
either similar to the old aha1520
and the aha2340 vl-bus version
was or something Adaptec acquired
from some other vendor (Future Domain?).
My guess would be that the aic7xxx
driver does not really work with it.
(IIRC Most linux users using Adaptec
cards successfully concurrent with
the release of that card were using
2940, 2940u, 2940uw cards.)
You can access archives of the
linux-scsi mailing list at The Mail
Archive if you want to search
for posts referencing that controller
at:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-scsi&r=1&w=2
(Note: it is a development list, so search
for previous references to your card
before you ask a new user admin question that many correspondents
will doubtless consider beneath their
notice.)
Good luck.
