It's getting a bit harder to find, but google for the "winmodem" web
page from Rob Clark. On his PCMCIA list, I see

[compton ~]$ grep -c OK pcmcia_list.txt.02.10.04
44
[compton ~]$ grep -c WM pcmcia_list.txt.02.10.04
18
[compton ~]$ grep -c LM pcmcia_list.txt.02.10.04
8
[compton ~]$ grep -c '?' pcmcia_list.txt.02.10.04
86
[compton ~]$

which translates to 44 known to work OK as is, 18 Loosemodems, 8 winmodems
that have Linux drivers available, and 86 unknown.

[compton ~]$ grep -c OK usblist.txt.02.10.04
8
[compton ~]$ grep -c WM usblist.txt.02.10.04
10
[compton ~]$ grep -c LM usblist.txt.02.10.04
4
[compton ~]$ grep -c '?' usblist.txt.02.10.04
75
