Hi,
How do you verify the integrity of a CD-RW?
Low down there are error detecting codes and error correcting codes involved.
Is there any way to count the number of times an ECC has to be used to read
a disc? You can't fsck an ISO9660 disk. You can't do a recursive diff
against the original file tree if it doesn't exist. Likewise you normally
don't have the MD5sum of a random disk. (Even if you did have it it would
not show that you were relying on the ECCs.)
I have been getting a lot of Input/Output errors lately and I don't know
whether to blame the drive, the media, or the operator.
This program seems relevant, but it is for some other operating system. :-(

BTW, my burner is supposed to have an 8Meg buffer, but "hdparm -i" reports
"BuffSize=0kB".
