Hi
I am tring to set up my mini-pci wireless card under linux (fedora
core2) without success.
lspci show :
00:0a.0 Network controller: Lucent Microelectronics: Unknown device
ab34
under widows, I can find that it is an agere card. agere provides
drivers upto kernel 2.4 as it seems that drivers as been included in
kernel >= 2.5
I am curently running 2.6.8.1 on a packardbell easynote 3260FT
under /lib/modules/2.6.8-1.521/kernel/drivers/net/wireless I try to
load the wavelan driver (as it seems that this driver is linked to my
card):
[root@nec001 wireless]# insmod wavelan.ko
insmod: error inserting 'wavelan.ko': -1 Input/output error
[root@nec001 wireless]#
[root@nec001 wireless]# tail /var/log/messages
Aug 26 17:16:38 nec001 kernel: WaveLAN init_module(): doing device
probing (bad !)
Aug 26 17:16:38 nec001 kernel: Specify base addresses while loading
module to correct the problem
Aug 26 17:16:38 nec001 kernel: WaveLAN init_module(): no device found
[root@nec001 wireless]#
I also tryed to load this driver using option for base address :
insmod wavelan.ko io=0xE4C0,0xE4FF (adress seen under windows) but it
fails the same.
Any idea?
