Running Slackware 10, just downloaded and installed latest PCMCIA-cs
3.2.8. I won't claim to be very familiar with setting up hardware in
Linux at all, so any newbie help I can get here would be great.
Anyway, I've been following the HOW-TO at:
http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/doc/PCMCIA-HOWTO.html but can't
seem to get past the following error:
"cardmgr[72]: no pcmcia driver in /proc/devices"
Of course, there is no mention of pcmcia in /proc/devices, but my
problem is that I don't know what I'm supposed to do to add this
driver support. Any ideas?
If it's important, the machine is a Compaq Presario 1080 laptop and
the only card in the PCMCIA slot is a 3Com EtherLink III 3C589D-COMBO.
