is accelerated portraitmode possible

Hi,

I'm trying to switch to Linux and thanks to the Linux community I found
almost anything I need.

What I'm still missing is a portraitmode for X. I saw the option
KDE-ControlCenter, but I was unable to enable it.

So far I only found information about non accellerated portrait mode.

Is there a Radeon driver that would allow me to use an accellerated
portrait-mode?

Is it an problem for missing support from ATI or is it simply a missing
feature in X?
