Canon LiDE-35 scanner

Has anyone tried to use one of these scanners in Linux? Did you succeed or
fail?

shows that the LiDE 20 and 30 are supported, while the 50 and 80 are not.
The 20 and 30 are USB 1 models, while the 50 and 80 are USB 2.0 models.
This suggests that Canon is using a different chipset in its USB 2.0
scanners, that isn't supported yet. The LiDE 35 is a USB 2.0 scanner, so I
suspect it might not work yet in Linux.
Does anyone at least have a device ID number or lspci -v output that they
could share?
