Hello --
I have just purchased 2 WD2500JD 250GB SATA hard disks, with the
intention of building a RAID0 array. I haven't bought the controller
yet. At some point in the future, I would like to add another 250GB
hard disk.
Is it possible to dynamically expand a RAID0 array in this fashion?
Is it supported in Linux RAID, or would I have to buy a hardware RAID
controller?
Another question, wich is related to the first one. In order to make
space for the third 250GB HD, I will have to remove another HD which
runs my VMware guest OS. Is there a utility that can image a hard
disk, and turn it into a VMware-compatible virtual disk? I can then
run this virtual disk from an external FireWire drive.
Thanks for your help,
Rohan
