Linux software RAID doesn't currently support adding drives to a RAID-0
array. (It's only supported for RAID-1.) A true hardware RAID card
should support that, although many so-called SATA RAID cards are _not_
true hardware RAID. The 3Ware cards are all good, as is the LSI Logic
MegaRAID SATA 150-4. The true hardware RAID cards are lot more
expensive than some of the other "fakeraid" cards.
