Hello,
I have a prolific usb to serial converter attached to my Cell phone
(samsung x426). I tested first in windows using Hyperterminal (9600
8N1) and it accepted most of the AT commands I threw to it.
So, I know that both my prolific converter and my cell can work
together with a terminal emulator like Hyperterminal.
I go to my linux box (redhat 9 2.4.20.8) with USB support. I know it
has USB support because I tested it with an External Hayes Modem and
another prolific converter attached to the same port I am using now
with my cell.
If I try to use minicom and setup the serial port with the same
settings that I did in windows, it never works....minicom keeps saying
Initializing modem....and that's it.
the device exist (/dev/usb/ttyUSB0) and if I do a 'cat
>/dev/usb/ttyUSB0' it waits forever...which is the normal way, I
suppose.
Is there something I have to do with minicom to do the same that
hyperterminal does at the initialization. Or is all the way around
....How do I tell minicom not do anything before I type my first AT
command ?
Thanks a lot for any help.
Andres
