Which is not surprising, bearing in mind how pitiful the ALSA
drivers tend to be. You might like to try the emu10k1 driver that comes
with the old OSS drivers. When a sound board is supported by these
drivers, chances are that one will be able to get them to work far more
easily than the ALSA ones.
