USB2 external hd suggestion?

Hi!

For backup and alike purposes I'm looking into getting some
external USB hd. The "Teac HD-35P" series seems a good choice
looking at the price? If anyone has experience with those under
kernel 2.4/2.6 or any other suggestion what does work without
problems while delivering reasonable performance. I'd like to
hear.
