I have just fixed a machine that had this problem for a custard, it
turned out that the graphics card ( an old Nvidia M64 32 meg ) was
borked.
Exactly the same clues, would work fine in safe mode or memtest but as
soon as the drivers were loaded and a bit of load put on it it would
blank the screen and reboot, tried lots of different drivers but all
showed the same prob, had to format and re-install winders as it had
eventually corrupted the install due to the reboots.
It was getting extremely hot and even strapping a fan on it did not
help.
Dropped an old ATI card in and it is running fine now.
Try another card and see if it fixes it.
