Reboot won't on Fedora core 2

I've been having trouble with the shutdown procedure on my box (details
below), either with with the three finger salute (in and outside of X in
runlevel 3) or with the "shutdown -r" command as root. Basically, all
services are brought down without problems and eventually the machine
displays "Restarting system" and just sits there.

I've explored the newsgroups over this and there has not been (as far as I
could dig up) any well known fix. This seems to happen with the 2.6.9
kernels with the Athlon cpu's (could be with other machines as well).

Has anyone found a proper solution? Is the fix going to come out with the
new kernel?

Cheers,
Andrew
