Aloha,
I am running a redhat 8.0 linux box, kernel 2.4.18, AMD 2400+ XP and think
about upgrading the machine to P4 530 3,2 GHz. Since the kernel was
compiled for ix86 machines I think it should be no problem just to change
the mainboard and the processor whitout installing a new linux or patching
the kernel.
Am I right? Any hints?
thx,chris
