My question exactly, in www.linux-laptop.net there seems
to be a gap between 1357 and 1400 wrt Acer Aspire,
Maybe the orgiginal poster tried linux on that machine?

Another Machine I am interested is the AMD +64 Acer Aspire 1522.
On this one I wonder if 64bit OS is possible?
