I have installed ATI proprietary driver for Linux.
Everything worked out all right for a two-monitor setup.
One problem I have now is that I can't use digital flat panel.
When I used an analog flat panel attached to the primary output
terminal via a converter, I have no problem. (Samsung SynchMaster 760V
TFT)
If I connect a digital flat panel (Dell 1703FP) to the primary
terminal, I get a black screen under KDE. I have not tried the analog
mode of 1703FP because I don't have a converter. Has anyone
experienced the same problem?
