Hi All,
Last week, I lost my first ever harddrive. I had no backups, and so I
now want a raid server where I can store stuff than I need back'd up.
I looked around for commercial solutions, but theres nothing out there
for less than 2-3K USD. So, I am going to build it myself, however, I
have never built a PC on my own, so I am looking on suggestions.
I want to have it to have 5 hard drives, to be used as follows:
HD1 - OS (Probably Fedora)
HD2 - Mirror of HD1
HD3 - /home
HD4 - Mirror of HD3
HD5 - Weekly backups of HD3
(Preferably, hot-swappable hard drives)
I'd like suggestions on which case, motherboard, harddrive cartridge
and raid controller cards. If someone has similar working
configurations to share, that would work too.
TIA,
rouble
