I have new box with
P4 3.0 G CPU
Gigabyte GA-81875 Ultra
2 sata drives
1 DVD-CD Burner
Award bios.
The dealer set it up with FC3 and logical volume to test the setup
but I wish to install Mandrake 10.1.
\Mandrake installs OK with the default bios raid settings, but if I
disable all the raid settings the installation falls over after the USB
device scan with 'NO CDROM" error.
Obviously this is bios related
On-Chip SATA is obvious
SATA Port0 Configure as can be a port0/1 or IDE 0/1 Master or Slave
SATA Port1 Configure as Ditto
SATA RAID Function enable disable raid Depends on SATA Port
Serial ATA function sets sata chip for raid or base
The sata drives are on the SATA0_SB SATA1_SB
The burner is on IDE1 (as master I imagine)
I want a two disk setup, NOT raid. The trial and error configurating with
trial installs could take some time.
Has anyone aready invented this wheel and can help?
