Linux Raids

I am trying to setup a raid arry in on a new dual proc system, running
mandrake 10.1.

I am running into trouble because it appears that Mandrake doesnt
support the silicon image sil680 in RAID. during setup, it can see the
drives, but does not recognize the array posted by the card. So instead
of seeing 1 drive, it sees the 4 on the controller. I do have the array
setup properly and have tried multiple configurations from the
controller with similar results.

does anyone have any suggestions for this or, can direct me to another
inexpensive IDE raid card that is compatible with linux, specifically
mandrake 10, and will do what I want?

Thanks in advance
