Hi!
I guess Mandrake uses Kernel version 2.6x with which "inexpensive" raid
controllers are not supported completely.
So Software-Raid may be an alternative solution.
AFAIK you must install a Linux with kernel <= 2.4x or buy a more expensive
controller (e.g. 3Ware)...
