Hello,

I have a Motorola SM56 PCI Internal Speakerphone modem that's working
fine with Win XP. About two years ago, it used to work okay with my RH
8.0.

For the last two years I've been using a LAN card.

Now I can't get my modem to work on my Linux. I tried to reinstall the
drivers and downloaded and executed sm56-06.05.00-1.rh8.i386.rpm.

Still KPPP says modem 'cannot be found' or 'is busy'.

I've tried using /dev/modem and ttyS0-ttyS4.

Please note that my Windows device manager says that my modem is
attached to the PCI Slot 3.

Thanks & Regards,
Faraz Hussain.
