Help with Installation of Mandrake 101

Yesterday I received my brand new Dell computer. I started to install
Mandrake 10.1. I ran into a slight problem, which was the installation
program could not find a driver for my Intel 82801FB/FM (SATA) AHCI
Controller. Of course the installation aborted since a filesystem could
not be installed on the hard drive. I tried disabling the AHCI feature
and the system would not boot.
So in a word, I can not install Mandrake 10.1 since it does not have a
SATRA driver. In fact I would use any version of Linux just to keep from
using Windows XP. Help!!!!!!!

I've been running Mandrake 7.2 on my server box for a number of years, but I've upgraded packages so many times that it has started to get a bit creaky - a lot of the mandrake tools have got broken when I've forced RPM upgrades etc. ...
