I have a CD writer installed at /dev/hdc. It works well for data reading
and burning but it does not work when I put an audio disk in. It won't
play them or copy them.
/dev/cdrom is symbolic link to /dev/hdc
/dev/cdwriter is symbolic link to /dev/hdc
/dev/dvd is symbolic link to /dev/hdc
ls -la gives (partial)
brw------- 1 user disk 22, 0 Apr 29 15:05 hdc
on an audio cd dd gives
bash-3.00# dd if=/dev/hdc of=cdimage.iso
dd: reading `/dev/hdc': Input/output error
0+0 records in
0+0 records out
dd works on data CD.
How can I get audio cd's to work.
I had no trouble running this same hardware on RedHat 7.3. The trouble
started when I wiped the drive and installed Fedora Core 3.
Thanks.
