At this moment, my MP3; pictures etc are spread about various
disks on my computers.
In order to make it more easy to find them back (and to
have some security against failures) I want to make a RAID5 system
with Linux Fedora.

I have an old Celeron 700Mhz, with 640Mb memory
and 1372 BogoMips :).

If I add a 4 ports SATA card, and 3-4 disks will this
system have some reasonable performance in RAID5?
Use will not be very heavy, and there is only 1 user.
Since the nature of the system, emphasis will be
on reading data. Writing is only a small part of the use.

And what is a better choice: buy 4 identical disks,
or 4 disks of (roughly) the same size but a
different brand?
