USB DVD-RW not detected

Hi,

I have a problem getting my DVD-RW running on my Debian (unstable). K3b does
not detect the device, although "dvdrecord -scanbus" does:

scsibus1:
        1,0,0 100) '_NEC ' 'DVD_RW ND-3500AG' '2.07' Removable CD-ROM

Below is what dmesg (with usb debug output) shows. It strikes me that the
DVD drive is connected to sg1 which is a character device.
I also cannot mount any normal CD-Roms in the drive.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Uwe
