Dear All,
I got some CD's with DellPoweredge which allow you to install RHEL 3.0
in its own way. One of the bindings you have to follow is partitioning
the hard disk in its own way, you loose substantial freedom specially
in partition names. In this approach, the Dell OpenManage Software
creates the disk partitions, copies the RHEL 3.0 CD's to hard drive and
the installation starts.
However, when I directly tried the RHEL CD's in the usual way, I got a
message like medium not found, problem with driver etc. Adding the
drivers from subsequent steps was of no help.
Now, I am coming my question. Is it not really possible to install RHEL
directly to Dell PowerEdge servers? Or do I need to always go through
the OpenManage software?
Some informations about the server Processor: 3.00 GHz, RAM 1 GB, SCSI
Hard drive 73 GB X 4, RAID 5, Intel Xeon Processor.
Regards
