Hi,
We have big problems with a 3ware PATA RAID card 7506-4LP and Tyan
motherboard Thunder K8SR (S2881G2NR) 2 X 1.6Ghz Opteron, 3 X 160 Go
disks RAID-5, 1 Go RAM, and Debian 2.4.27-2-686-smp. When we have lot of
read/write as with updatedb, the system freeze up to 40 seconds and the
1 mn load average rise up to 10 !
After upgrade with a 2.6.11-1-686-smp (Debian) the new 3ware driver
seems solve the problem but the performances are poor, the 1 mn load
average is around 1 or 1.5 with CPU usage between 90 and 99% and an
updatedb on 17 Gb size rise the 1 mn load average up to 6.
We have the same config but with a Tyan S2469NG, 2 X Athlon 2600+,
kernel 2.4.26 SMP and the same 3ware 7506-4LP work fine.
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Sam.
