Frame buffer in 24 bit mode with SIS650 (ie:vga=789 doesn't work!)

Hello
My Graphic Chipset is SIS650
Everytime I boot it says:
"You have passed an undefined mode number.
Press <RETURN> to see video modes available, <SPACE> to continue or wait
30 seconds"
Impossible to have get Million color available with this chipset when
using console mode frame buffer.
Any idea somwhere ?
