i cant use my c-media 9738 sound card

i have a laptop with a c-media 9738 sound card.
i use the alsa 1.09 driver, it could play the sound,however,i cant
use any mixer to change the volumn. i download a driver from the c-media
homepage, but it is for OSS,i dont like it. so,how to change the volumn
under the ALSA driver?
