Good, this means that your drives are now in Windows and sound works.
You had to do work for this to happen, maybe you have to do some more for
Linux....

Why believe???? Make sure;

locate snd-cs46xx

First check if the module (snd-cs46xx) is loaded;

cat /proc/modules

If yes then open, a mixer and adjust the volume levels.

If no do; modprobe snd-cs46xx and check again.
