You may not need it, make a backup copy of the /etc/pcmcia/config first then

Tried that; failed miserably with 'unknown parameter' on attempting to
insert it.

I'm not 100% sure about a couple of things with the FC3 kernels, like which
one are you using??? You might want to replace the pcmcia_cs rpm with the
pcmciautils rpm (rebuilt from source that is). Then restart the pcmcia
service; service pcmcia restart

rpm -qa 'kernel*' 'pcmcia*'
uname -a

The machine in question actually runs a generic 2.6.12.4 kernel. I've
also tried the latest available FC3 kernel - 2.6.12.1. No joy either way.

I've downloaded the pcmciautils tarball but it wants sysfs... So I
suspect this is not as simple as I would hope...

All I need is to dd an image onto a 2MB SRAM card so I can reflash a piece
of equipment.... I will probably have to do this a few times before I
can get it right....

Am I going to have install a whole new OS for this? ARGHHH...

(WinXP sees the card and can access it with no problems... But of course
XP can't dd an image to a raw device...)
