Actually, I am developing an utility which collects vendor and device
specific info from all peripherals. For floppy drive, Is there any
vendor related info embedded in its firmware so that the vendor name
can be retrieved by doing IOCTL manipulation on the device file
"/dev/fd0".

Hi,AFAIK, no way for the classic floppy drive with 34-conductor ribbon
How to find out the vendor name of a floppy drive using either /proc
entries or ioctl call.
cable. Don't know why you would even need a vendor name. lsusb should
work for a usb floppy.
Classic floppy: Look on the label on its case. No other way.
But you don't need to know it, they all work the same.
