Those messages typically indicate that your hard drive is about to die.
Check the SMART attributes (with 'smartctl') and/or the manufacturer's
diagnostic utility to be sure. Make sure you have backups of any
important data on that disk. It may continue to work for quite a while,
it may not.
Might also be wrong chipset driver in kernel?
lspci for chipset and dmesg for hard drive info, is there anything
on the slave connection (/dev/hdd)?
