Hi,
i'd like to use a USB printer cable to control some switches for home
automation.
How can i control the value of every data line of the parallel
interface?
Since i'm not on a PC architecture, direct output to the port is not
possible.
Any idea?
If it's a USB printer cable (like you say the first time), you've
effectively only got one output data line. And it's under low-level
enough hardware control that you won't be able to control it at will.
If it's a parallel printer cable, you do have complete control over
every wire. But you need to be able to have direct output to the port
to get it. Somehow, someway, every architecture does have direct
access to the port (that's how the OS gets to it, after all). So the
question is how to insert your own device driver.
