pcmcia/cardbus <--> usb converter?

Hi,

has anyone heard of such thing as a converter
which can be plugged in a USB interface and
becomes a PCMCIA slot for those computers
that do not have a PCMCIA interface?

Please note that what I mean is some inverse
device, if exist. of what we normally can see.

Is this technically not possible?

thanks in advance for responses!
