brother dcp110c disabled after Suse 9.2 update

After downloading the latest Suse update my printer no longer prints. I
re-installed the printer and cupswrapper drivers from the Brother Solutions
web-site, deleted and re-installed the printer with Yast2. The printer is
identified by Yast2 but does not test-print. Apparently, no data is sent
to the printer (otherwise the printer display would show "data transfer",
which is doen't). There is no error message.
