getting old, i moved the tape drive on pc linux system. and this AIT

programs closely related to a particular file system. The solaris dump
program is able to dump data from a Solaris udf file system. However, to
restore that backup you will also need a Solaris machine which knows how
Solaris udf works.
My guess is that it would have worked better if you would have used some
high level program like tar to make the backup. However, with tar you
would probably lose ACL information.
Another thing that could differ between Solaris and Linux is the default
block size on the tape. You might be able to fix that using the mt
command.
