Re: Veo Stingray not loading driver?

I try to use xawtv to test it, but none of the /dev/video* devices
work. I am using Gentoo Linux with kernel 2.6.16-r7 and a usb cable.
xawtv just brings up a blue window, and dmesg says that the cam isn't
receiving a driver. My old kernel of 2.6.15-r1 complained, when the cam
was plugged in, that it only got 0 back for any vendor or product ids.
With 2.6.16-r7, lsusb shows the vendor and product ids, and lsusb also
knows that its made by Xirlink, but the kernel isn't assigning a driver
to it.
Should I attach any logs or anything to help?

I had trouble with that model. It had special compressed formats that prevent the standard cam driver from working.

I tried to hack the driver to recognize the Veo product id, but it still did not work. So I gave up and gave the camera away.

While reviewing my notes and references to reply to your post, I just now noticed that someone is claiming to have created a working driver.
